JVC ANNOUNCES TWO NEW DVD/VCR RECORDER COMBOS

One ATSC tuner-equipped and one tuner-less model debut.

LAS VEGAS, January 7, 2009 – JVC today announced two new DVD/VCR recorders, one with a built-in ATSC tuner for convenient recording of high definition TV programming, and a tuner-free model with JVC’s Timer Link for easy program recording.

Both the DR-MV150B and DR-MV80B offer VHS-to-DVD dubbing and feature 1080p upconversion through HDMI for DVD and VHS content, making it an excellent companion for today’s HDTVs. A front panel DV input makes it easy to connect a camcorder and transfer footage to a DVD disc or VHS videocassette. Both decks are compatible with –R/RW, +R/RW and DVD-RAM discs for recording and playback, can read JPEG, MP3 and WMA files, and offer Dolby Digital and DTS HD decoding.

The DR-MV150B is JVC’s new ATSC tuner-equipped recorder allowing recording of standard definition or high definition programming. The DR-MV80B is tuner-free, and includes JVC’s Timer Link, a quick and easy solution for recording TV programs by connecting to a cable or satellite set-top box using an AV cable. The user selects the desired program using the set-top box electronic program guide and timer function. JVC’s new Timer Link feature senses the signal, automatically powers up the recorder and begins recording. Recording automatically stops and the recorder shuts off when the program ends. Both recorders include component and S-Video outputs, composite outputs and inputs, and coaxial and optical audio outputs.

Availability and pricing:
