JVC UPDATES THE CLASSIC KABOOM BOX FOR THE DIGITAL AGE
Renowned boombox now includes a built-in iPod® dock and USB Host.
LAS VEGAS, January 7, 2010 – The JVC Kaboom is back and updated for the digital age. The legendary boombox, first launched in 1998 and renowned for its high power and durability, remains true to its heritage, but now includes a built-in iPod® dock and USB Host.

The RV-NB50 Kaboom
The new JVC RV-NB50 (black and silver) and RV-NB52 (black) Kaboom boasts 40 watts of power and retains the original’s general design – a large cylindrical shape with a woofer at each end. Bass enhancement circuitry ensures room-rattling low frequency performance. Digital era upgrades include the iPod dock, which is shielded from the elements by a protective door, and USB Host for playback of music files stored on a USB mass storage device. In addition, there’s a CD player that can handle MP3 and WMA file playback, and an FM tuner. A remote control makes it easy to operate while a shoulder strap makes it a cinch to carry.
The black and silver JVC RV-NB50 Kaboom is available this month for $299.95. The black RV-NB52 will be available in March.

Hi my name is Juan i just wanted to know how? when? and where? can i buy the JVC KABOOM System for ipod RV-NB50. Please let me know. I really want to obtain one.
The Kaboom is available now. The availability of the new Kaboom has been slightly delayed. It will be in stores later next month (February). You can find your nearest JVC dealer using the dealer locator on our website. We suggest that you call your local dealer to see if the product that interests you is in stock.
I have a Ka Boom from about 1998,serial #173X1508. I need an auxillary plug so I can play my I-Pod on it. It is still the best sounding player we have ever had. Where can I find such a plug? THANKS, DANNY
My understanding is that the older model had 52 watts of power. This new one has 40 watts max, is that correct? Thanks.
Why in the world did you not include either an aux input either on the front or the back? Not everyone is in love with ipods, not to mention that with an aux input you can also play a cassette (yes some of us still have them and play them). With an aux input the kaboom would still be the ultimate music playing platform as the RV-NB1 was.
went to expect Kaboom RV-DP200 i went one looks great
JVC should have stayed true to its Original Platform. 52 WATTS or more is what all of us Kaboomers want. Also, Keep the AM Stations!!!!, the USB port and AUX jack for additional add ons for non Ipod users. Or make the Ipod housing compatible with other mp3 players. ADD A HANDLE so this can be carried around like the old style radios. Keep the carry strap. Finally add some bass ports so I can feel the the air blowing out when the box is at Full level. Let me know when you make this digital dream box so I can get one.
Stop Using the new cheap plastics!!!!
Oh yeah! I forgot to mention. Many people are buying the 52 watt and old school models or older 80’s models on Ebay, Amazon for $300.00 to $600.00 because todays versions are cheap and don’t have any power. What happened to the Boombox? I don’t want to listen to music through tiny little earphones!!!
I need to purchase another power lead for the JVC Boombox RV-NB50. Can anyone tell me where to get one?
You can buy one directly from JVC online: http://store.jvc.com/product.asp?Model=BI1402031X

I need to purchase a lock lever for my Kaboom RV-NB10B boombox. The lock lever is used to keep the CD door latched. Any ideas on where I could find this part? I believe the part number is B1300N00601000.

I bought the NB52 to use in my salsa classes and was horrified to find that it had no aux input for a microphone system. The suppliers are refusing to take it back. Any suggestions please on how I might hook up a mic? ie, would the CD unit still play if I plugged in a mic via an adapter and the USB socket?
Thank you
I have model RVB90GY I bought new in 1998. Sounds great but rubber end pieces and volume knobs are very sticky. Gets on your hands and clothes. Anyone try to remove this sticky compund ?
Mine has always been indoors and used as a stand alone sound system.
It looks new , never handled rough or droped at all, but sometimes it will not turn off from remote or power button, you have to physically unplug from power source.
Strange ?
Johnny
did JVC do away with the guitar in-put on the new models?
The current models, the RV-NB50 and RV-NB52, do not have guitar inputs. But, we’ll be introducing a new model in May, the RV-NB70, that will have a guitar input and a microphone input.

Have there ever been any reports of any Kaboom models short circuiting and causing electrical fires?
We’ve not received any reports about that.
I do have a wish( sometime dreams work!)
