Capture Outdoor Adventures With JVC Rugged, Weatherproof Camcorders

SALT LAKE CITY, July 31, 2014 – Smartphones might be the best choice for shooting family videos, but when it comes to capturing outdoor adventures, it’s best to stow that fragile phone and instead go for a JVC weatherproof camcorder that’s waterproof, shock proof, freeze proof and dust proof.

JVC is here at Outdoor Retailer, the largest gathering of the outdoor industry, demonstrating its full line of rugged, all-weather camcorders, including conventional full-featured models and a wearable point-of-view cam. The company’s new Everio camcorders feature JVC’s “Quad-Proof” structure – waterproof to a depth of 5 meters/16.4 feet, the ability to withstand a drop from 1.5 meters/4.9 feet, freeze-proof down to –10˚C/14˚F and dust proof – packaged in a familiar camcorder form factor. Rounding out their all-weather versatility, they float. And for extending outings on the water, the internal battery can provide 4.5 hours of recording.

The new Everio line’s Quad-Poof technologies were first offered in JVC’s Adixxion action camera, designed for shooting point-of-view action video. The Adixxion GC-XA2 offers the same weather-protection specs, but it can withstand a drop from 2 meters/6.5 feet. It features a built-in LCD monitor and Wi-Fi for streaming video to a smartphone, uploading to YouTube and still image transfer.

JVC’s Quad-Proof Everio camcorders offer a combination of performance capabilities and innovative features for those who want to take their videos beyond what a smartphone or other camcorders can deliver. In addition to their weather- and shock-proof attributes, JVC’s new Everio camcorders feature a KONICA MINOLTA HD LENS with 40x optical zoom, 2.5 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS image sensor, audio technology that reduces wind noise, and compatibility with third-party editing software, including iMovie and Final Cut Pro X.

Remote Control HD Live Streaming Cameras Now Available From JVC

WAYNE, NJ, March 18, 2013 – Two JVC live streaming cameras that can be remotely controlled via tablets, smartphones and PCs are now available, the company announced today.

The new JVC GV-LS2 and GV-LS1 combine the video performance of a top-quality conventional camcorder with the unmanned capabilities of a high-end security camera and roll them into a compact device with Wi-Fi and remote control.

The JVC GV‐LS2 and GV‐LS1 live streaming cameras offer a number of advantages over other types of streaming cameras. Their pan/tilt/zoom operation can be controlled remotely from a PC or smart device, and is quiet compared to gear‐driven mechanisms. This silent operation in the GV‐LS2 is achieved through the use of low‐noise DD motors to move the camera, while the GV‐LS1 pans/tilts/zooms electronically. Android and iOS apps for remote operation are available for free download.

At the heart of both models is a 1/2.3” 12.4 Megapixel Back‐Illuminated CMOS sensor and JVC’s FALCONBRID high‐speed image processing engine, which allows Full HD quality to be maintained even when only part of the entire image is used for lossless image stabilization (both models) or pan/tilt (GV‐LS1). The GV‐LS1 maintains Full HD resolution at up to 2x zoom, but is capable of up to 4x electronic zoom. The GV‐LS2 offers 10x optical zoom. This makes both models an ideal way to stream images and sound from live events as they are unobtrusive and won’t intrude on the performance. Besides HD streaming, both models offer Full HD quality AVCHD video recording onto an inserted memory card.
