JVC Home Theater Projector
Named CES Innovations 2010 Design and Engineering Award Honoree

NEW YORK, November 12, 2009 – JVC today announced that it has been named an International CES Innovations 2010 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for the DLA-HD990 home theater projector. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 36 product categories.

The JVC DLA-HD990 uses JVC’s proprietary full HD D-ILA device and the company’s wire-grid optical engine. These key technologies combine to deliver unprecedented native contrast – no dynamic iris is employed to artificially inflate contrast specifications. As a result, the DLA-HD990 achieves a native contrast ratio of 70,000:1 to simultaneously deliver true blacks and extraordinary luminance detail.

System includes sound bar, wireless subwoofer and Blu-ray player.

LAS VEGAS, January 7, 2009 – JVC today introduced the company’s first Blu-ray home-theater-in-a-box system, a three-piece package that includes a sound bar speaker system, wireless subwoofer and Blu-ray player, providing a complete high definition home entertainment package designed to complement virtually any HDTV.

The new JVC TH-SB100 is a 3.1-channel system designed to make it easy to upgrade to a full HD home theater, and offers such advanced features as BD Live compatibility. The system’s powered soundbar is designed to nestle unobtrusively below a television, while the subwoofer, thanks to its wireless technology, offers the kind of placement flexibility that design-conscious consumers appreciate. The included Blu-ray player, in addition to its BD Live (Profile ver. 2.0) compatibility when used with USB memory, also offers AVCHD playback, the popular high definition camcorder format.

The simple and cleanly-styled sound bar has an internal amplifier that provides 30 watts each to the left, right and center channels. Left and right channels are each handled by a pair of three-inch woofers and half-inch tweeter, while a single three-inch woofer handles the center channel. The eight-inch wireless subwoofer is driven by 100 watts. In addition, the system offers Dolby Digital and DTS decoding, plus six-mode digital signal processing.

The TH-SB100’s Blu-ray player offers compatibility with the full array of formats, including AVCHD. Connections include HDMI ver.1.3 with Deep Color and x.v.Color, USB Host, LAN for BD Live, component and composite video outputs, and analog, optical and coaxial audio outputs.

With BD Live compatibility the player can be connected to the Internet to access BD Live 2.0 features, including easy firmware updates, new movie trailers, updated subtitles, online shopping, chat and gaming.

The TH-SB100 is designed to complement the latest generation of sleekly styled flat panel TVs. The glossy black low-profile Blu-ray player has illuminated function keys, while the black soundbar likewise features a slim design.

JVC Reveals New Details And Revised Specifications For New D-ILA Home Theater Projectors

JVC Reveals New Details And Revised Specifications For New D-ILA Home Theater Projectors

Among four new projectors are two THX® Certified models with the industry’s highest native contrast ratio – 50,000:1.

WAYNE, NJ, September 25, 2008 – JVC today released additional technical information and revised specifications for four recently announced D-ILA home theater projectors to be available this fall. Among the four new full high-definition front projectors are two THX® Certified* models that offer a native contrast ratio of 50,000:1, the industry’s highest. The other two models achieve native contrast ratios of 32,000:1 and 30,000:1. Like current highly-acclaimed JVC projectors, all four new models achieve high contrast ratios without the use of an auto iris.

The new projectors are the DLA-HD750 and DLA-HD350, to be marketed by JVC’s consumer group, JVC Company of America, and the DLA-RS20 and DLA-RS10 from JVC’s professional group, JVC Professional Products Company. All four projectors were first announced earlier this month with lower contrast ratio specifications.

Contributing to the projectors’ superior native contrast ratio is a newly developed lens with a 16-step fixed aperture in the DLA-HD750 and DLA-RS20 that helps eliminate extraneous light that can reduce contrast levels and allows adjustment of brightness to suit user preferences. The DLA-HD350 and DLA-RS10 feature a three-step aperture. In addition, changing the structural design of the optical section from a conventional L-shape with a mirror to a straight configuration reduced light leakage. Combining this new structure with a highly efficient lamp allows the new projectors to achieve a brightness of 900 (DLA-HD750/DLA-HD20) and 1,000 (DLA-HD350/DLA-RS10) lumens.

JVC UNVEILS 10 MEGAPIXEL ULTRA HIGH DEFINITION PROJECTOR

JVC UNVEILS 10 MEGAPIXEL ULTRA HIGH DEFINITION PROJECTOR
4K2K D-ILA Projector Provides Four Times the Resolution of Full HD

Denver, CO (September 3, 2008) – JVC unveils the world’s smallest 4K2K ultra high definition projector, the DLA-SH4K. Based on the company’s new proprietary 1.27-inch 10 megapixel D-ILA devices, the DLA-SH4K projects images at greater than 4 times the resolution and clarity of the industry’s latest full high definition projectors. The higher resolution will bring a new level of reality to aircraft simulators, medical analysis, 3D display, command and control, museums, theme parks, and ultra high-end home theaters.

The DLA-SH4K will be unveiled at CEDIA September 3 – 6, 2008 and will be on display throughout the show in the JVC Theater located at The Denver Center for the Performing Arts next to the Denver convention center.

The projector’s chassis achieves a remarkable 65% reduction in size compared with conventional projectors in its class. This was achieved in part by using JVC’s latest 1.27-inch Direct Drive Image Light Amplifier (D-ILA) devices and a new optical system. D-ILA is a proprietary form of Liquid Crystal on Silicone (LCOS), a reflective technology that offers far greater pixel density than competing devices.
